Restaurant Manager – Falkland Island Hotel
£19,500 Plus £3000 Bonus, free accommodation, flights.
The Company
Our client operates one of the finest Hotels in the Falkland Islands. They are continuing to expand and are developing and improving their product, their sales are up year on year, and in these uncertain economic times their performance in their sector is unrivalled.
The role
Our clients are looking for a restaurant manager that can deputise in the absence of the GM; due to the location of the Islands people normally take their holiday in a block that would mean running the hotel for approximately a month. They want 3 years previous experience at Head Waiter, Assistant or Restaurant Manager level, someone who has the ability to set and maintain standards within a growing and developing business. They are planning to increase the size of the restaurant and bar/lounge areas. This is a hands on position and will involve being present in the restaurant during the service periods, they would like an energetic person, with personality, warmth and high levels of customer care, whilst delivering an efficient, professional and friendly service. Obviously they would like someone with a real passion for food and beverage industry that can ensure the hotels reputation is maintained and excelled.
It’s a small team and like most things on the island people need to be flexible in their duties and responsibilities.An applicant would need to consider that it will be a lifestyle change as well, though the Falklands are similar to the UK, it has its only culture, a very small population along with the remoteness. It would be recommended that they research the Island as well as the hotel. The islands are very natural and beautiful location.
What We Are Looking For
·MUST HAVE experience in reservations or sales and preferably booking leisure based events.
·Excellent organisation, and communication skills.
·Be career minded and want to excel themselves.
