The Company
Our client, a prestigious college in Sussex, is looking for a Sous Chef to join their dynamic team. It is a fast paced environment with high volume where teamwork is essential. All food is made fresh on site and to a very high quality. High volume prep and service is experienced on a daily basis. Other events such as weddings and other prestigious dinners requires exposure to fine dining cooking methods and presentations.
The Role
As Sous Chef, you will be preparing food and making sure it is fit to send out to students. You'll rotate stock and organise the relevant storage of goods. You'll train and supervise junior members of your team so they are all trained to the same standard and will deputise in the absence of the Head Chef. You'll be responsible for making sure your section is clean and maintains the correct health, hygiene and safety standards at all times.
What We Are Looking For
Successful individuals will be able to demonstrate the following:
.Has successfully managed large kitchen teams previously
·Have gained experience in high volume food preperation (up to 500 meals per day)
·Is able to lead from the front- experience in a range of different settings such as event catering and function work would be ideal
·Has a team attitude and approach
·Is able to develop team members on a daily basis
