Award winning food shop, dedicated to sourcing the best local fruit and vegetables from small local farmers.
The Role
Based in West Sussex, this venue has an excellent reputation for producing fantastic home cooked favourites from scratch, using locally sourced and seasonal produce. We are seeking a talented Head Chef to build on this reputation by…
a) Taking personal ownership of the newly launched evening dinner service.
b) Helping develop the current offering by working with a small team to improve breakfast and afternoon service and create / develop Sunday menus.
c) Improve processes to manage hygiene and maximise output (producing food for café and also take away services).
As a new business, applicants should be team players and understand the need to be flexible in working hours and day to day duties. Working 5 days out of 7 on a rota (currently Thursday days, Friday & Saturday evenings, Sunday and Monday days). NO SPLIT SHIFTS!
What We Are Looking For
Successful individuals will preferably possess / be able to demonstrate the following:
Fluent English speakers with minimum 2 years previous experience.
Willing to work constructively with colleagues from all areas of the shop and the owners (who have a clear vision for the business).
Ability to maintain the highest standards at all times and a keen eye for detail.
Creative thinking - top Head Chefs are visionaries who rely on innovative thinking to develop and implement strategies and menu ideas.
Organised and hands-on to ensure optimal service to customers and staff.
Great team player and motivator with the passion to take autonomy for the kitchen.
Excellent working references / recommendations from previous employers.
