Chef / Cook - Upmarket Café/Bar, Petersfield

£7.00 per hour + Holiday Pay + Travelling Expenses (where applicable) + Benefits
The Company
Privately owned continental cafe bar situated in the town centre and offering a wide variety of quality homemade food, cakes, pastries and drink with a fully licensed bar.
The Role
As sole Chef / Cook you will be required to undertake all duties involved in the smooth running of this busy kitchen, from food preparation and service (short order) to ensuring very high standards of presentation, health & safety and food hygiene at all times.
The menu is an up market café/bar (sandwiches, cooked breakfast, fresh salads, burgers, specials etc) all made from fresh ingredients and sourced locally, baking your own scones and cakes with and making bread when required. There is also the opportunity to create your own dishes for the daily specials board.
Working hours: Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays with a guaranteed minimum of 25 hrs per week (08.00am - 18.00pm) with breaks. This is an ongoing Temporary role with a view to possible Permanent employment.
What We Are Looking For
Successful individuals will preferably possess / be able to demonstrate the following:
Chefs / Cooks qualified to NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Catering for the hospitality industry or minimum 1 year experience in a similar role / environment.
Basic Food Hygiene certificate
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Chef / Cook that works well alone or as part of a team
Chef / Cook that works well under pressure and uses initiative in quieter periods
Excellent references (preferably from previous employers)
