The company: Small hotel near Brecon, and with their flagship restaurant being highly sought after, they are going from strength to strength. Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service, and this is reflected in the well deserved reputation they have built up over many years.
The role: As well as bar duties, you will support the front of house team when required. You will be one of the first points of contact with guests when they arrive, as the bar is situated next to reception.
When the reception team finish of an evening you will be responsible for checking guests in, as well as perform other light admin duties. You will enjoy going the extra mile for guests, and provide a personal service. As well as taking orders for drinks and delivering them to guests, you will also take food and wine orders for various meals and show guests to their tables in the restaurant.
You will keep a clean and hygienic bar as well as ordering some drinks for the bar on a weekly basis, and undergoing a monthly stocktake. You will need to be numerically literate as you will be required to balance the tills at the end of each shift. You will be responsible for opening/locking up when required. What we are looking for:
- Two or more years experience in a bar role
- Impeccable time management skills
- A 'can do' attitude and be willing to cross train in other departments
- Display a calm demeanour at all times
- Numeracy competency with regards to cash handling
- Confident with opening and closing of premises Holding a personal licence/food safety certificate is desirable but not essential.
Working hours are from 10.00 until 14.30 and then from 18.00 until around 23.30. You would work around 40 hours per week and you must be able to work weekends and bank holidays.
