Junior Sous Chef – Rosette Level Property – Outskirts of Cheltenham
This is an ideal step for a current Chef de Partie working in a similar establishment, or for an existing Junior Sous Chef who is looking for a change, and a new challenge.

The Role;
As the Junior Sous Chef, you will be expected to run the kitchen effectively whilst on shift. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional food consistently across the pass, in a timely manner, ensuring that service runs smoothly. To enable this, you will need to be a strong & visible leader in the department, and ensure that prior to service, the mis en place for the shift is completed to standard.
You will need to mentor the Commis Chefs & Chef de Parties, and instruct them as to what is required. We will expect you to heavily contribute ideas to the menu also. You will further be expected to keep the kitchen hygienically clean at all times.
You will be expected also to ensure that all systems and routines in terms of hygiene and food safety are carried out in line with the expectations of the Hotel Management & Head Chef, to protect the public.
You will need to address discipline issues as the leader within the team whilst on shift and understand that you are also a manager, as well as a chef.
The Ideal Candidate;
Will be able to provide a first class service to the guests.
Feels comfortable , and confident, as a Leader
Has much experience of cooking with fresh ingrediants
Has Rosette experience, but not essential.
Will follow policies and procedures
Be happy to attend further training
Works well within a Team, as well as independantly.
The salary on offer is £26k based on 45hrs weekly working any 5 out of 7 days. ( weekends are busy) plus service charge at approx £4k yearly, and overtime, if agreed and authorised by Head Chef / GM.
It is not necessary to have worked in a rosette restaurant but they need somebody with a similar kind of back ground. ( cooking fresh local ingredients)
No split shifts, and always opportunity to be developed into more senior role in the future.
