Junior Sous Chef /Sous chef

A 2 rosette boutique Hotel, in the Stroud area, pushing for 3 rosettes is seeking a Junior Sous or Sous Chef.  Rosette experience would be preferable but most definitely not essential. The key requirement, is a can do attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn and push the team forward.

The award-winning, two-rosette restaurant offers consistently good food full of quality and bursting flavour. Sourcing locally is important to the Hotel, so they are using fresh local ingredients that’ll make your taste buds tingle. These include a wealth of locally reared meats and game as well as vegetables from their own kitchen garden and foraged produce. All are put together skillfully, and served up deliciously, by a dedicated kitchen team lead by the Head Chef   

This job role will involve some breakfast shifts. The rota is based on 4 days on 3 days off, (not always together) so will be comprised of 4 straight shifts with an hour or 2 break, between 45 and 50 hours a week.

Responsibilities;

Would involve running service on the quieter evenings. Stock management, bringing menu ideas to the table, help training the 2 apprentice chefs within the brigade,  and breakfast shifts. The main focus is dinners, but afternoon teas and Sunday lunch, are also something they strive to ‘be the best’ at.

Salary based on experience £26k-£28k. Kitchen staff also get shares of tips.

The Hotel does have staff accommodation available,  but this is offsite so the successful Candidate would ideally be able to drive or have own transport.
