Facilities Assistant Job description

This esteemed tuition provider located in the heart of the Cotswolds, is looking for a Facilities Assistant to join their friendly team, on a part time basis. With over 50 years in the business, this Client has a long history of delivering results. As the Facilities Assistant you will be responsible for ensuring delivery and performance of facilities services at the Reed Business School.

Salary:  £23,399 full-time equivalent

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week

 

  Principle Duties and Responsibilities


  • Provide a porterage and stores service, including but not limited to the collection and delivery of parcels, packages and goods around sites.

  • Oversee the water and electricity meter readings, monitor the heating oil levels in all properties, run regular safety checks in accommodation and the main house.

  • Receive and action daily reactive work requests to proactively assist with smooth operations of the School

  • Completion of general maintenance tasks, item movements, painting and decorating, alongside many other general works requested by the management team

  • On ad hoc basis assist with Housekeeping tasks

  • Assisting with conference and meeting room set ups, furniture layouts and movements across site.

  • Ensuring waste management processes and procedures are adhered to including the movement of rubbish to correct designated areas.

  • Compliance to Health and Safety and Safeguarding Policies; responsible for weekly fire alarm tests and other safety checks in all properties

  • Ensure any repairs noticed during duties are addressed either by booking a relevant contractor or making provisional adjustments to ensure safety of all on site until such repairs can be made

  • Ensure adequate stock of equipment is available and where necessary requests for replenishment are submitted to line manager in a timely manner.

  • Take personal ownership of the standard of work you deliver - ensuring exceptional service to our learners, staff and visitors

  • Completing and collating paperwork such as delivery notes, post and others as required ensuring compliance to the document management process.

  • Carry out all reasonable requests as directed by management.

About You

Qualifications, Certifications and Training required


  • GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent desirable but not essential

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience for this role


  • Previous experience within similar environment involved in multi discipline building services delivery.

  • Experience in a customer facing environment.

  • Good inter-personal skills

  • Good understanding of IT and office software packages
