Our Client, situated in the Heart of the Cotswolds, wishes to appoint a Catering Operations Manager to help lead their visitor experience operations, contributing to the department's operational efficiency while delivering the highest levels of customer service.

  • A great working venue.

  • Working hours typically 40-45 hr week including evenings and weekends (operating hours 8am-9pm during peak trading periods)     Our expectation is that during peak season your working pattern will include at least one evening and one weekend day per week

  • 31 Days holiday per annum pro rata (inclusive of bank holidays, which are normal working days)

  • Salary is £45K+ per annum.

  • Location: Rural, outside Cheltenham, Gloucestershire so own transport is required.

Further to significant recent investment in the site and the sustained growth and development of this diverse business, this unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Catering Operations Manager to support the Senior Team, overseeing all aspects of the catering and hospitality offerings.

The venue has been operating for 50 years and is one of the UK’s leading rural attractions and comprises of;


  • Year-round farm-based visitor attraction, including farm animals, indoor and outdoor play, and seasonal events and activities.

  • A range of accommodation types, including lodges, glamping, pods, touring and camping.

  • Food and Beverage – daytime and evening, including a bar and restaurant.

  • Retail – offering a range of high-quality gifts, toys, food, and beverage.

This tourist attraction is on an exciting journey from a seasonal ‘day out’ to a larger scale visitor attraction with extensive accommodation. This would be an excellent point in time for an experienced Catering Operations Manager to join our management team and help deliver the strategic plan.

A hands-on approach and can-do attitude are the attributes we are looking for in someone who is driven and wants the opportunity to be part of a successful tourist destination. Previous experience within a high volume FOH role is essential, as is previous event set up & bar/festival experience.

You'll lead a team on-site, with the support of the onsite kitchen ensuring our food and service are the highlight of our visitors days. There is a need to lead from the front, managing the team and managing your own time to delivery fantastic food to our customers, in order to enhance the overall visitor experience.

You'll be responsible for implementing standards, driving innovation and leading the team. You'll be P&L accountable, responsible for creating and operating within budgets and preparing weekly and monthly management reports. You'll drive innovation, develop our product and smash our visitors expectations by helping us be at the top of our game.

Suited to an agile operations expert with a background in high volume catering and a knowledge and love of the food scene. This is a customer facing role, so strong interpersonal and commercial skills are a must. You'll have a minimum of 3 years proven, successful experience in a similar role, with responsibility for the provision of large scale catering to high numbers and a background with demonstrable experience of managing and motivating a high performing team.
