Are you a passionate chef who loves creating fresh, exciting food and putting your own personality onto the plate?
We’re looking for a Sous Chef to join the catering team at a leading private boarding school. This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who wants more than simply following recipes — someone who enjoys being creative, developing ideas and creating food that teenagers genuinely look forward to eating.
The Role
Working as part of a talented and supportive kitchen team, you’ll play an important role in delivering high-quality, fresh and varied food for our students.
You’ll have plenty of creative freedom to bring your own ideas to the menu, experiment with flavours and develop dishes that reflect your personality and passion for food.
Just as importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to build a real connection with the students. We’re looking for someone who enjoys engaging with young people, understands what gets them excited about food and takes pride in creating meals that make a difference to their day.
What We’re Looking For
Our ideal Sous Chef will have:
A genuine passion for fresh, quality food. This isn't a site for your run of the mill school dinners
A creative approach to cooking and menu development
The confidence to put their own personality into their food
The ability to connect and build positive relationships with teenagers
A positive, approachable and energetic personality
Good organisation and the ability to work well as part of a team
Experience working in a professional kitchen, ideally at Sous Chef level
What We Offer
£32,000–£36,000 salary, depending on experience
40-hour working week
Working 1 weekend in 3
Monday to Friday in holidays
All shifts finished by 7:30pm
